October 2024 A team of four including the two sisters were sent to Cuba at the beginning of the year. This happened a month ago. There are multiple highlights during this trip.
Couple of days after arriving in the country. The team decided to start an intercession at the central place in the capital of the government where it is known to be related to witchcraft.
Intercession followed by a power outage
The moment they began to intercede on behalf of the land and the whole nation of Cuba. The government sent an announcement to everybody who has a mobile phone. The government declared state of contingency. This means the electricity supply would be cut for the next three days. Everyone was encouraged to prepare and make reserves.
Shortly after the power outage has begun. No electricity and water supply in Havanna and the whole city. Everywhere went black. It is already difficult even with electricity and water supply so not having these basic necessities made the trip even harder for everyone. The situation brought trials and distress to the Cuban people
Drunk man experienced freedom
The team was welcomed by the couple whom they met at the first mission trip. The couple hosted the whole team and showed great hospitality. The team went to the host's friend. There is a sharing and hearing of needs. Prayers were offered and the first deliverance happened at the meeting. A few people experienced freedom.
The team left in the evening and started a beautiful time of spontaneous worship. Everybody keeps their house open for ventilation, so doors are open in the streets.
During worship people passing by in the streets would be stopping by and saying, "Hey! What's going on here? We hear the worship."
People got interested in what is going on that total stranger came into the house to join! The host welcome them. A total of six people began to worship with the team. There's a particular man named Thomas who at some point passed by the house. He was drunk.
And he stopped by and heard the music. Thomas began to weep at the door! They engaged in a conversation with him.
Then he said, "This is what I want in my life. I want Jesus. I am done with this alcohol and this addiction." He threw away his bottle.
The team prayed for him at the door. He experienced some levels of healing. He sobered up and worshipped with us. The gospel was shared to him. Further prayer was offered were he experienced freedom. He passed out flat on the ground. Spirits left him and came back to himself. He said in wonder, "What am I doing on the ground?” Someone explained to him what happened. He decided to repent and be baptized.
One of the sisters in the team had a Word and a beautiful song came out of it.
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12
It was a beautiful thing to witness what God is doing in the midst of hardship. The intercession, spontaneous worship and everything happens after that proves God's faithfulness. He continues to draw people to himself. From a couple who prays and fast to a drunk man in the neighborhood. In the next article continues another powerful highlight of God's plan at work.
